Sage Creek
Modern master-planned living, southeast edge of the city
Sage Creek is a newer master-planned community by Qualico Communities in far southeast Winnipeg, built around a walkable Village Centre and a network of naturalized wetlands and trails. It has grown steadily over the past 15-plus years into a self-contained neighbourhood where shops, services, schools, and green space sit close to home. The look is consistent and modern, with design standards across the community, and it draws a mix of young families, professionals, and downsizers.
Highlights
- Village Centre on Burning Glass Road: a pedestrian-oriented hub with groceries, dining, banking, fitness (including Orangetheory), and professional and personal-care services within walking distance
- Naturalized wetlands and native prairie grasses, developed with Ducks Unlimited Canada's Native Plant Solutions rather than the manicured artificial lakes common in other Winnipeg suburbs
- More than 9 km of limestone walking and biking trails through parkland and public reserve, four playgrounds, a 'living playground' with a willow tunnel and limestone stepping stones, and the Capasso Pump Track for cyclists (opened 2024)
- Family-friendly, cul-de-sac-oriented street layout with public art landmarks such as the 'Four Winds' and 'Flight' roundabout sculptures
