Bridgwater

Modern lakes, trails, and a walkable town centre

All neighbourhoods

Bridgwater is a modern, master-planned community in southwest Winnipeg, made up of four connected neighbourhoods: Bridgwater Forest, Bridgwater Lakes, Bridgwater Trails, and Bridgwater Centre. Built mostly through the 2010s, it was designed around lakes, parks, and an extensive network of walking and cycling paths, with its own commercial "town centre" at the heart of it all. Now that most lots are built and the landscaping has matured, it reads as an established, family-oriented community rather than a brand-new subdivision.

Highlights

  • Bridgwater Centre town centre with a landmark clock tower, pedestrian plazas, grocery (Save-On-Foods), pharmacy, banks, medical and veterinary clinics, and local shops within walking distance of the surrounding neighbourhoods
  • Designed around lakes and green space, including the lakes in Bridgwater Lakes and Eskar Park in Bridgwater Trails (roughly 35 acres with native plantings, courts, and a ball diamond)
  • An extensive paved trail and pathway system woven through parks and water features, making it one of the more walkable and bike-friendly newer areas in the city
  • Close to major retail and services at Kenaston Common (IKEA and big-box stores), Victoria General Hospital, the University of Manitoba, and IG Field
